CONVIMUS

FAQs

In 2025, the AMASING association, in close collaboration with the Aldoar, Foz do Douro and Nevogilde Parish Council, organised CONVIMUS – International Music Festival, with conductor and violinist Eliseu Silva as its artistic director. Each edition has had a different theme. This year will be dedicated to important events in Portuguese music, including: the 125th anniversary of Nicolau Medina Ribas, the 135th anniversary of Luis Freitas Branco, the 100th anniversary of Carlos Paredes and Artur Napoleão and the 75th anniversary of Fernando Lapa and Christopher Bochmann. This competition was created to give young national and international artists opportunities, with a view to promoting the international careers of the young participants.

Some of the event’s activities are free, such as the daily concerts and exhibitions. However, there is a registration fee for the violin and chamber music competitions, the masterclasses and the Orchestral Conducting Course, so that we can offer the best conditions to the participants and bring brilliant artists to Porto.

The event is open to musicians of all instruments. As for the masterclasses, we’ll have masterclasses in violin, viola, transverse flute, piano and chamber music. The art, violin and bow exhibitions are open to the public. In addition, the daily concerts feature a variety of groups and styles, making them inviting for all types of audiences.
