CONVIMUS

FAQs

In 2024, the AMASING association, in close collaboration with the Aldoar, Foz do Douro and Nevogilde Parish Council, promoted CONVIMUS – International Music Festival, with conductor and violinist Eliseu Silva as its artistic director. Each edition has had a different theme. This year will be dedicated to the good relations between Portugal and the Orient, specifically commemorating the anniversary of Macau’s independence. We will therefore have an Asian representative of the CONVIMUS, the MMAS – Macau Music Arts Space. This competition was created to give opportunities to young national and international artists, with a view to promoting the international careers of the young participants.
Some of the event’s activities are free, such as the daily concerts and exhibitions. However, the violin and chamber music competition and the masterclasses have a registration fee, so that we can offer the best conditions to the participants and bring brilliant artists to Porto.
In 2024, the competition is open to violinists, as usual, but there are also chamber music categories, so it is possible for musicians of other instruments to take part. However, in order to take part in the chamber music category, the groups with a piano are not accepted. As for the masterclasses, we will have masterclasses of violin, viola, piano, cello and chamber music. The  violin and bow, and art exhibitions are open to the public. In addition, the daily concerts feature a variety of groups and styles, making it inviting for all types of audiences.
